I’ve committed to shooting, editing and submitting ONE photo per week for the photo club I’ve been in for the last two-plus years. It was a commitment I made for myself to ensure I take at least that ONE PHOTO to submit each and every week. It’s been a fun experience but now it is time to move on. I’m finding I have less and less interest in shooting a “theme” and more interest in following my own particular style of photograpy. As a “creative pursuit”, I have more then enough creative interest in photography among other areas of creative endeavors:
The theme’s HAVE been fun to shoot. I’ve often taken more then one photo that follows the theme although only one photo is allowed to be submitted for that week’s challenge. And almost all of the photos I’ve taken resonate with me on a personal level. The subject is either deeply personal to me OR the photo was taken during another event which reminds me of that particular event. Ahh… FOND MEMORIES!
Someone once told me that all my photos submitted were taken “in my backyard”! My response is a resounding YES! I feel there is beauty all around us if we stop and look closer. It is the proverbial “stop and smell the flowers” type of mentality! We all live in a world of beauty if we just slow down and look around us.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the past 52 weeks. As I look back, I remember the place and time each and every one of these photos were taken. I remember my puppy’s first snow fall and how much fun she had bouncing through the snow. I remember the THIRTY roses hubby bought for me for our 30th anniversery. I remember placing the spent petals from my Paperwhite bulbs into a heart shape to signify “gratitude”. And so on. And so on… The people and places will always remind me of the time I stopped to take a photo to commemorate that person, animal, place or event.
Looking ahead, I’m focusing on the future. On to 2018 and whatever it may bring!
